Beautiful handmade soaps, formulated with love and care. Our
soaps are made in small batches with the best ingredients we can find. A treat
for your skin, that smells so good, you'll want to eat them! But please don't.
About the owners:
A Microbiologist married an Electronics Technician - he joined the Coast Guard, moved us all over the country, and settled us here on Cape Cod. We are Wash Ashores (but our daughter is not!) and we love seeing what God will do with our lives here on the Cape.
We strive to make our soap as beautiful and as healthy as possible. All of our soaps are made with care and a great deal of thought and research. We proudly list all of our ingredients, which we strive to locally source on Cape Cod and in Massachusetts, on all of our products. We welcome any questions, concerns or requests you may have. Please don't be afraid to have a custom soap made to your preference. We actually love hearing your ideas for new soaps, so feel free to share!
Do not believe the hype! Not everything that is 'all natural' is good for you, and not everything that is synthetic is bad. We spend a significant amount of time researching the best ingredients for our products, and while some are synthetic, they are always bath and body safe, and sometimes better than their natural alternatives. We do also stock products void of any synthetics because we know that some people have allergies or preferences that we wish to help you meet. We always welcome questions, and we are happy to help you find just the right fit for your family and your needs.
Why handmade soaps?
For us, it was a no-brainer. Having radically sensitive skin, as well as conditions such as eczema and keratosis pilaris (those icky bumps on your arms etc), I was always told by docs to use 'that soap'. You know, the one with no fragrance, no color, no fun. Just 'moisturizing'. I began making handmade soap because it was just enough science to please the mircobiologist brain of mine, and just enough art to keep the creative part flowing. I really was interested in making shave soap for my husband, and bar soap was a side endeavor. I didn't really expect to be able to use it much, maybe just give it as gifts.
That all changed after my first batch was made. Well, not right after because that soap had to cure for a minimum of a month. I was not sure how it would work out, and I used it somewhat sparingly at first. Before long we had thrown out that store bought soap, and we started using mine exclusively. It became a family endeavor right off. With a month of consistent use, our entire family could see a change in our skin for the better. While I certainly can not claim that our soap has cured our skin sensitivities, I can say that our skin has never looked or felt better! All of this with the added bonus of being able to use colorful, fragrant amazing soaps. We even have made fantastic friends along the way, working with local farmers, butchers, bee keepers, and others to make the best, most beautiful, locally supportive soap that we can. Try it for a month. You won't want to go back to anything else.
In addition to individual piece sales Wash Ashore can create custom orders (minimum of 10 bars) if you wish to buy in bulk any of your particular favorites at a discounted rate. We would also love to work with you to design Christmas gifts, party favors or any other individualized item. Contact us for details at WashAshoreSoaps@gmail.com
